A Second Grade Teacher, a Seizure, and the Two Rules That Changed Everything

I read something a while back that stopped me mid-scroll.

It was about organisms. Biology stuff. Stay with me. 😂

It said that when a living thing has more life in it than its current environment can hold, it doesn't just sit there and shrink. It develops new organs. It evolves. A whole new species gets created, not because conditions were perfect, but because the organism had outgrown its place.

And I thought, that's exactly what happened to me.

Ten years of bouncing

For 10 years, I bounced. Amazon fulfillment. Etsy. Shopify. TikTok affiliate marketing. I even went back to Etsy twice. I was a second grade teacher who lost her career after a seizure put me in the hospital for two weeks, and I spent the next decade trying to figure out how to build something online that actually worked.

You know what my problem was?

I'd have a day where I didn't get the thing done, the one thing that mattered, and I'd tell myself, "I'll do it tomorrow." Then tomorrow came and I'd be juggling around four platforms, three half-finished projects and zero momentum.

There's no neutral day

Here's what nobody told me (or maybe they did and I just wasn't ready to hear it).

Every single day is either a successful day or a day of failure. There's no neutral and no "I'll get to it later." If there's something that could be done today and you don't do it, you've failed in that thing, and those days pile up way faster than you'd think.

I know that sounds harsh. But the flip side is just as true.

If every day is a success, even a small one, even just finishing the one task you scheduled the night before, you can't fail over time. The days stack. The momentum builds. You outgrow your current situation the same way that organism outgrows its place.

And then something new opens up. Something bigger.

The two rules I'd heard a thousand times

This year, I finally started doing what people had been telling me forever: set my schedule the night before, and do one thing at a time. That's it. Two rules. I'd heard them a thousand times, but actually doing them changed everything.

I've lived in the same subdivision for 19 years. My four kids are 18, 19, 20 and 21. My husband Brian 💏 and I want to move to Key West, travel, and live a different kind of life. And for the first time, I'm not just hoping it will happen. I'm watching it build, day by successful day.

You don't need to be perfect, and you don't need 14 platforms. You just need today to be a successful day. Then tomorrow. Then the next one. That's how new species get created, and that's how new lives get built.

If you've been circling around the idea of building something online, especially now that AI makes so much of it simpler than it used to be, the Home Business Academy Turnkey System is what finally helped me put the pieces together. I earn a commission if you join through my link, and your price doesn't change. If you're curious, you can see how it works here. No pressure. It's just something I wish I'd found (and stuck with) a lot sooner.

Thanks for reading, and whatever you do, always go for your dreams!
